Six new preview images for the Chucky TV series have been released
Six new pictures for SYFY’s upcoming Chucky TV series have been released, focusing on the connection between the infamous killer doll and the teen lead, Jake Webber (Zachary Arthur). The new horror series will attempt to follow the plots of both the original slasher films and the franchise’s more recent additions, Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky.
While the series premiere is still a few months away, the promotional campaign has been picking up steam in recent weeks, with plenty more to come.
Though the series will primarily centre on the terror that the possessed doll inflicts on a small community, Chucky also intends to show Jake’s struggle with his sexual orientation and the bullying that ensues as a result. The decision to cast an LGBTQ+ character as the main character in Chucky is a first for the franchise, providing a unique perspective not previously shown in the films.
It’s still too early to tell how this story aspect will play out in the series, or whether it’ll give it more heart than the popular slasher films have previously provided.
Here Are The Images
The newest tease of Chucky’s potential has arrived in the form of six new photos, as fans of the Child’s Play film series eagerly await his arrival. According to Bloody Disgusting, the new photos depict Jake’s discovery of Chucky at a yard sale, his subsequent friendship with the doll (which includes bringing him to school and what appears to be a stint at the school talent show), and Jake’s father presumably telling him to get rid of the doll. What happens after Jake captures Chucky is unlikely to be good for Jake or the town’s residents.
Take a look at the photographs below:

Given Chucky’s poor track record as a film series, it’s possible to argue that it won’t find a significant audience. However, regardless of how the film series has been appreciated by viewers and critics over the years, Chucky’s storey is unique and deserves to be given the chance to shine. So far, it appears that there is something here to entice audiences, even if they have never seen a single film in the franchise.
