Selena Gomez and Trevor Daniel Take Fans Around the World in New Music Video
Selena Gomez and Trevor Daniel have dropped the music video for their song, ‘Past Life’.
The music video showed the singers maintaining social distance and communicating via Instagram Live. The video was released on July 14. Later on in the video, fans are taken on a journey with beautiful landscapes around the world.
“I’m trying to be honest with my happiness/Don’t know why I’m bad at this,” Daniel sings on the track.
“And I don’t want to sit all in my sadness/I know it’s a habit of mine,” Gomez continues. “Perfect, perfect timing/I start but I don’t know how to end.”
However, Instagram Live stops and zooms in on Selena. They take the viewers to a visual journey. Amazing shots of water, the mountains, the desert, and more were shown. The music video is directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia.
“Last night was the last night of my past life/Got me here like you can never figure me out,” Gomez later sings on the track. “Last night was the last time, was the last time/I’ll never let you figure me out.”
“Sitting here, talking to myself/Thinking how I used to use you/Only thing I’m used to,” the lyrics continue. “Last night was the last night of my past life.”
Trevor has previously released the song in March but later Selena joined in for the remix version. Selena did share with Trevor how much she relates to it via a virtual video chat. Trevor asked her what does the song mean to her. She responded saying when she first heard the song, she loved that it was like a story about the things we hold on to in the past.
The singer further says that she is very vocal about her personal experiences. She admits to having made decisions that aren’t healthy for her. Selena says for something serious it is kind of beautiful.
The singer released a music video for her song ‘Boyfriend’ in April. It was a deluxe edition to her album Rare. Selena recently sued the makers of the Apple mobile game called Clothes Forever-Styling Game. She sued them for almost $10 million claiming that they stole her image and likeness.
Daniel spoke to Rolling Stone earlier this year about his sudden rise on TikTok through the single “Falling,”. He also spoke about the current stress of releasing his debut album during the pandemic.
Trevor said things happen the way they’re supposed to happen. He further expressed his concern saying, “The most difficult part right now is trying to figure out how to get it to fans without being able to do some of the shows, the listening party, and everything.”
