Season 4 of Stranger Things will be the darkest yet, according to Finn Wolfhard

Finn Wolfhard claims that the upcoming and eagerly anticipated Stranger Things season 4 will be the darkest yet in the Netflix series. The sci-fi thriller with an 80s concept debuted on Netflix in 2016 to great acclaim.

However, no new episodes of the show have been released since 2019. Stranger Things will return to television screens in 2022.

After that emotional season 3 finale, showrunners are eager to wrap up those loose ends and probably create even more questions for viewers.

Stranger Things will be the darkest yet

Stranger Things kids will no longer be tied to their small town of Hawkins, Indiana, as Netflix has already promised in a series of promos. Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Will (Noah Schnapp) have both relocated to California, despite Eleven’s romantic relationship with Mike (Finn Wolfhard) in Hawkins. Also, following Hopper’s (David Harbour) fake death that developed into a Russian kidnapping plan, the show is expected to contain some foreign plotlines.

Stranger Things’ upcoming episodes, according to Wolfhard, will be the show’s darkest season yet, in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant.

The season is automatically different, according to Wolfhard, because the stars are no longer teenagers, but young adults. Every season, he says the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, go into a “scarier” area. Stranger Things Season 4 will, he feels, not only be the darkest yet but also the season with the funniest plots, which he describes as “full-blown, almost comedy.”

I think because we’ve all grown and gotten a little older; we’re not teenagers anymore, and all of us are young adults. Every season the Duffers have been like going into the scarier and pretty territory. This season is going to be easily the darkest season. It’s weird because they amp up everything every season. And so it’s the funniest season. It has one of the funniest storylines, like, full-blown almost comedy. And then there’s another storyline that’s complete, absolute horror. But not sci-fi; it’s a horror. It’s really scary, and I’m excited for people to see that.

Stranger Things has developed significantly since its premiere, and not just because the original cast members are now A-list actors.

After the third season of Stranger Things, there was some concern that the show’s slow-burning charm had been undercut by certain unexpected storylines, such as Hopper being kidnapped by Russians.

There was also the wonderful small-town aspect with the major characters living just a bike ride away from not only each other but also numerous locations related to the show’s central story, which added to the charm.
