Season 2 of Hulu’s Hardy Boys has been renewed
The Hardy Boys on Hulu will soon be back solving mysteries, since the show has been renewed for a second season. The Hardy Boys has been updated for a new generation of modern viewers, based on Edward Stratemeyer’s popular novels of the same name, first published in 1927. With thirteen episodes, the first season of the Hulu series launched in December of 2020.
According to Variety, the Hulu series The Hardy Boys has been renewed for a second season, which will premiere in 2022. The show’s producers, Nelvana and Lambur Productions, have given the show a second season, which has been picked up by Hulu once more. Filming in Toronto and Southern Ontario is expected to begin later this month.
Season 2
“The Hardy Boys” has been adapted numerous times in various novels and types of media since its first publication in 1927. To far, there have been five television adaptations of the original IP, with Nelvana also making a short-lived series in 1995.
Stratemeyer, who wrote under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon, was a prolific author who self-published over 1,300 books, including the iconic Nancy Drew series, which has inspired several adaptations. Stratemeyer’s books have sold millions of copies around the world, so it’s no surprise that his original IPs are still being adapted today.
The second season will reportedly pick up after the events of the first season, with Rohan Campbell (as Frank Hardy) and Alexander Elliot (as Joe Hardy) reprising their roles. “After a local Bridgeport teen vanishes and a threatening corporation sweeps into town,” reads the synopsis, “Frank and Joe must face another tough mystery.” Janet Porter, Adam Swain, Keana Lyn, and Atticus Mitchell are among the returning cast members.
