Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans will reunite for an Apple film after the Avengers

Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, two former Avengers, are scheduled to reunite for Ghosted, an adventure film set up at Apple Studios.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rocketman filmmaker Dexter Fletcher will direct the film, which will be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also wrote Deadpool.

The film is being marketed as a high-concept romantic action adventure in the spirit of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner’s 1984 adventure picture Romancing the Stone. Other specifics are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Evans will also produce the picture alongside Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, who worked on Amazon Studios’ Amazon Prime Video film The Tomorrow War. Producer credits will also go to Reese and Werinick.

This is Johansson’s second arrangement since launching a lawsuit against Walt Disney Studios for alleged contract violations in connection with the Disney+ release of her standalone Black Widow. She’s also in the upcoming Wes Anderson film, which is now shooting in Spain.

Evans, who previously collaborated with Apple on the legal drama miniseries Defending Jacob, recently concluded The Gray Man, an action thriller starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who previously worked together on the Avengers.
