Saif Ali Khan recalls being fired from his first film after he didn’t ‘show interest’
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was thrown out of the film Bekhudi. It was supposed to be his acting debut in the industry!
It was in the year 1993 when the actor Saif Ali Khan made his Bollywood debut with the film Parampara. But do you all know that actually he was supposed to appear first in the 1992 film Bekhudi?
The actor himself has revealed how he was fired from the film after he didn’t show much interest. Talking to Mumbai Mirror, he said, “I had to tear through fake cobwebs and emerge, singing a line that went, ‘Chaahat Ki Raahon Mein, Kyun Itna Darti Hai’. It was not easy because my expression had to change as I went from ‘chaahat ki raahon mein’ to ‘kyun itna darti hai.’”
“I might just about pull it off today. But, back then, straight out of a boarding school in England, I was petrified. I must have performed really badly. Because soon after, Rahul Rawail threw me out of the film, complaining I wasn’t showing enough interest. That shot, I must admit, was particularly appalling,” added Saif.
He went on to talk about how he opened up as an actor for the first time in Dil Chahta. He stopped aping others and started being himself. Saif also revealed that in Race, he chose to do the role of the elder brother because he felt that it was more responsible.
