Royal Baby has started ‘saying a few words’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby seems ready to start talking.
Archie was welcomed in May 2019. Six months later, the baby has already started achieving major milestones. Baby Harry is already trying to talk.
At 12 months old, Archie is getting bigger every day and growing into a toddler with likes and dislikes, favorite songs and books and colors, and a whole little internal world. While it seems like just yesterday that Meghan was refusing to pose on church steps with newborn Archie (iconic), the truth is that baby Archie isn’t such a baby anymore. In fact, this royal tot is even talking now — and his first words to Meghan and Harry prove Archie’s got everything he needs at home.
An inside source told US weekly
A source told US weekly, “He’s a strong baby and you can tell he’s super smart. He can sit up without support and roll over, and he’s almost crawling. He can’t talk yet, but he’s trying!”
Babies usually start talking when they are 7-11 months, considering that, Archie is way ahead in the game.
The source went on, “When Harry walks into the room, Archie gets so excited, he puts his arms out — his way of saying, ‘Pick me up!’ You can tell Archie’s going to be a social butterfly. He’s at his happiest when he’s around people.” His first words might just be ‘Dada’.
The “happy baby … rarely cries,” the source went on to tell Us at the time. “He takes a keen interest in his surroundings and is already engaging and interacting with people. He loves to be entertained. And he isn’t a needy baby — he’ll happily go to Harry and Meghan’s friends without kicking up a fuss.”
The insider also says that Archie “loves playing hide-and-seek and using building blocks.”
Archie takes after his cousin, Prince George, who was also picking up speed in his development. When George was almost nine months, his first word was “bilby”.
Harry and Meghan, tied the knot in May 2018. They decided to step down from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family in January. They live in Los Angeles after moving from Canada.
The family after stepping down
Meghan is ‘feeling like herself again’ now that she’s in her hometown. “Harry and Meghan were really excited to move to L.A. The timing is tricky of course, but this is something they’ve looked forward to and seriously planning for several months now” the source said.
The family recently posted a video on social media, where Archie was sitting with Meghan while Prince Harry records the adorable moment. In the video, Archie seems to be an avid reader too (well, listener). For his birthday, mom Meghan read him one of his favorites, Duck! Rabbit!, and the baby seems to be happy with his mom and dad.
At the beginning of May, a source said that Archie is also holding onto the furniture and “now starting to walk.” A friend of the Duke and Duchess additionally said that since stepping back from their royal family roles and settling into their new life, Meghan and Harry are “happier and more relaxed.”
The two remain focused on the launch of their upcoming non-profit Archewell and on being involved in supporting coronavirus relief efforts and the Black Lives Matter movement.
He’s growing up so fast — and we’re sure Meghan and Harry feel the same way. Given his incredible, history-making parents, Archie has a bright future. Those building blocks are just the beginning.
