Richa Chadha calls out the hypocrisy of the filmmakers who posted condolence messages for Sushant Singh Rajput
Bollywood actress Richa Chadha has penned down a blog explaining her stance on nepotism and starkids and what she thinks about their privilege!
The debate of nepotism is still going on and many stars have expressed their views already on the same. Since the demise of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput, people have been blaming the industry and starkids. However, the actress Richa Chadha thinks that the discussion should have been about mental health rather than nepotism.
In her blog she has explained that instead of the insiders and outsiders, she thinks that B-town is divided between kind and unkind people. She wrote, “In the brief time that I have spent here as the first person of my lineage, my assessment is that the industry operates like a food chain. People are scoundrels when they know they can get away with it. Those who are anguished today have themselves been cruel to their subordinates.”
Richa said that the debate of nepotism makes her laugh out loud adding that she does not hate star kids. “Why are we expected to? If someone’s father is a star, they are born into that household the same as we are to our folks. Are you ashamed of your parents… This is a hateful and nonsense argument. I am a self-made person in this business. Will you tell my children to be ashamed of my struggle to reach where I have, for instance?” she reasoned.
She also recalled her workshops with Sushant when they used to attend it together and the actor used to pick her up on his bike. The actress also criticised the death and rape threats that some people are sending out to some of the celebs.
Richa added further how there have been filmmakers who had put out condolence messages. But they are the same people who “have run down movies of their peers pre-release, have replaced actresses who refused to sleep with them at the last minute and several have in fact repeatedly forecasted ‘iska kuch nahi hoga’.”
