Rene Bonét is carefully applying pressure in the realm that is R&B and Hip-Hop

The DMV native has been very methodical in her movement through the music scene. With the release of singles and visuals on a consistent basis, she is moving at a pace that is hard to keep up with. The visual for her song “Shawdy” just passed 30,000 views in its first week of its release and it continues to rise. In addition, the song “Trendsetter” was just featured on Revolt TV and features a performance from the artist’s alter ego Bully Barbé. Both songs were directed and produced by Atlanta’s masked producer Weku Did That and seem to highlight the artist in her best light. 

Rene Bonét is a female artist that is effortlessly moving through two genres of music, and this is something that we have not seen since the great Lauryn Hill. We can easily see the amount of time that she has put into her perfecting craft, and her unique style and delivery is making it extremely difficult for other rising female artists, and artists in general to be mentioned in the same conversation.

With all this being said you can still see a very humble and hungry artist who does not seem like she will be slowing down anytime soon. Rene Bonét states “My goal is to remain genuine to who I am as a person and as an artist, as long as I do that, I think I will be okay”. In regard to new music, she lets us know “I have a lot of music ready to be released, and I have new visuals on the way”. As a critic I can safely say she is applying the right amount of pressure to other artists, on, above or below her level.

Her upcoming releases include  another classic R&B record titled “Waiting”, an international dance record titled “BE”, and a record from her alternatively driven persona Bully Barbé titled “Boi Don’t Lie”, and this is the type of ruthless ambition that aides her in increasing her lead amongst other artist and at the same time, creating a category for herself while removing all competition, making her ascent to success inevitable.
