Ray J was arrested in Los Angeles on November 27 after a livestream argument with his ex-wife, Princess Love, during which he allegedly brandished a firearm. According to TMZ, the singer was booked on a charge of making a criminal threat. His bail was set at $50,000, and he was released later the same day.

The livestream, which circulated widely on social media, showed the former couple involved in a tense exchange regarding whether Love or her family members intended to drive after drinking. During the argument, Ray J said, “Drive drunk, Princess,” while Love, who appeared on screen holding their daughter, claimed, “Ray, you just pointed a gun.” Ray J denied the allegation, replying, “I didn’t point nothing at y’all.”

Livestream Captures Intensifying Accusations

The pair, who share two children—Melody Love, 7, and Epik Ray, 5—continued arguing throughout the video. At one point, Love accused Ray J of being “a woman abuser,” while Ray J referred to Love and her cousins as “alcoholics.” When discussing who would drive, Love responded, “I’m not driving! You just pointed a gun at us.”

TMZ reported that Love told Ray J on camera, “I called the police,” to which he replied, “I’ll shoot the fu**ing police.” The outlet also noted that the video appeared to show Ray J holding a gun and making threatening statements, including, “If these n***** step foot close to this door, I’m going to blow this fu**ing sh*t away, bro.” Ray J began the livestream by saying he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the fu**ing world.”

Background on the Former Couple

Ray J and Princess Love married in 2016. Love filed for divorce in February 2024. The latest incident marks a continuation of public tension between the two as they navigate their separation and co-parenting arrangements.
