Presenter Zoe Ball To Leave Strictly Come Dancing’s Spin-Off ‘It Takes Two’ Permanently

Presenter Zoe Ball has announced that she is leaving Strictly Come Dancing’s It’s Takes Two.

She presented the show, which is broadcast every weekday evening during Strictly’s existence, since 2011.

‘After A Joyous Decade’

Dance lovers, after 10 joyous years I am waltzing away from It Takes Two,” Ball wrote on Instagram.

Zoe said “it’s time for new challenges” and thanked “the whole Strictly family … I will miss you very much.”

Ball has continued to present the show in partnership after she started hosting the morning show BBC Radio 2.

Does Rylan Clark Take The Lead Now?

However, she has reduced the number of episodes of It Takes Two she presents weekly, with Rylan Clark-Neal taking the show a few days in her absence.

Ball has also announced that dancer Ian Waite, who regularly appears in the program to judge the contestants, will also leave the show after a decade.

In a statement, Ball thanked Waite and other regular programmers Gethin Jones and costume designer Vicky Gill.

The BBC has not yet confirmed whether Rylan will take the lead in launching the show in full, or if it someone new will be brought in.

Zoe’s Farewell Message

“As a massive @BBCStrictly fan I have loved spending my Autumn teatimes with the celebrity dancers, the gorgeous & awesome pro dancers, the judges, my girl Vicky Gill, Rylan, Gethin & of course my main man Ian Waite,” Ball said.

“Time now for some new cha cha challenges. I will continue to support the Strictly family on the Breakfast Show & can’t wait to watch the Class Of 2021 from my sofa. Huge love & grateful thanks to Tess [Daly] & Claudia [Winkleman] & the whole Strictly clan, the It Takes Two fans, my Glam Squad, Eve Winstanley, Alex McLeod, the BBC2 gang, & of course the best telly crew ever. I will miss you all immensely.”
