Police complaint was filed against Kareena Kapoor because of her book, Pregnancy Bible
An official stated that a Christian group objected to the title of a book authored by actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and filed a police complaint against her and two others in Beed, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, accusing them of hurting the community’s religious emotions.
The book, which has a second author, was the subject of a complaint filed by Alpha Omega Christian Mahasangh president Ashish Shinde at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Beed. Shinde has mentioned the title of the book, Pregnancy Bible, written by Kareena Kapoor and Aditi Shah Bhimjani and published by Juggernaut Books, in his claim.
He claims that the usage of the holy name ‘Bible’ in the title of the book has damaged Christians’ religious feelings.
Shinde has filed a complaint against the actress and the two others under IPC section 295-A (deliberate and malicious conduct intended to offend the sentiments of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs). The report was received, but no FIR was filed, according to a police official.
Complaint Registered
“We have received the complaint,” Shivaji Nagar Police Station in-charge Inspector Sainath Thombre told PTI, “but no case can be registered here because the incident did not occur here (in Beed); I have advised him to make a report in Mumbai.”
Kareena’s book was released on July 9th. The 40-year-old actress, who gave birth to her second kid, a boy, in February this year, referred to the book as her third child in a series of social media posts.
The book, according to the actress, is a detailed account of her physically and mentally experiences during both pregnancies.
