Paul Walker’s Daughter Meadow Pays Touching Tribute to Late Dad on 47th Birthday: ‘Most Beautiful Soul’
It’s been nearly 7 years since Fast and Furious Actor, Paul Walker lost his life in a fatal car crash. The late actor’s 21 year old daughter, Meadow commemorated what would have been Walker’s 47th birthday by sharing an adorable throwback photo of the father-daughter duo.
“The moment I realized we are twins,” Meadow captioned the touching family photo of her as a toddler in her father’s arms. “Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul.”
Walker’s legacy and Untimely Death
Walker was best known for Universal’s blockbuster action-thriller film franchise called Fast and Furious. Walker played the role of fan favorite, Brian O’Conner, one of the three main protagonists of the franchise. The actor also has stellar performances in films like Into The Blue, Eight Below, Varsity Blues, Joy Ride and Timeline. Paul last starred in the 7th installment of the Fast and Furious series, directed by James Wan. Universal, the film studio behind the popular franchise, also released a documentary titled “I Am Paul Walker,” which chronicled his life and career.
Walker’s life was untimely cut short on November 2013, when his friend, Roger Rodas, lost control of their Porsche and slammed into a tree, in Santa Clarita, California. Unfortunately, neither Paul or Rodas survived the crash. Meadow lost her dad, who was 40 at the time, just weeks after she had turned 15.
The Annual Do Good Challenge
Meadow, who is a model, took to Instagram in a second post to honor her late father’s birthday, with her “annual do good challenge.”
“In honor of my dad’s birthday, I’m kicking off our annual do good challenge. This year, I’m keeping it simple and close to my heart. I am so blessed to be in love with my best friends. Thank you Diva and Morgan for working on this project with me to capture a snippet of our friendships. My friendships are my foundation. They are my family. Tell your friends you love them and acknowledge them for standing by your side no matter what. #DoGood #BeGood,” wrote the 21 year old.
Meadow also nominated a bunch of her fellow models, “to share a random act of kindness.” Apart from the models, Meadow also nominated Vin Diesel, who plays the beloved Dominic Toretto in the franchise. And who considers Paul his family, both in reel and real life. Meadow also nominated Jordana Brewster, who played the role of Mia Toretto, Dominic’s sister and Paul’s girlfriend in the movies.
“The type of guy that had ‘everything’ but wanted nothing to do with it all”
A year before his death, Meadow, who had spent 13 years of her childhood living with her mother in Hawaii, decided to move to California in 2011 to live with her dad. During their time together, the father-daughter duo grew extremely close. “He loved being a dad. He was so proud of her,” his brother Cody revealed.
Cody Walker, Paul’s younger brother also took to Instagram to share a nostalgic throwback video of his elder bro. Which seems to have been taken when the brothers were enjoying a NFL match day out together.
He captioned the video with a heartfelt message, writing, “This is the guy I remember. A kind, goofy, generous and spontaneous soul. The type of guy that had ‘everything’ but wanted nothing to do with it all. We love you, miss you and hope you are proud. Thank you for being a light in this world and an example for so many. Happy 47th birthday PW. ❤️ #pdub #agent47 #guntotinhippie.
“This kind of sunshine is hard to find, my best friend forever”
In addition to keeping her father’s memory alive with the Paul Walker Foundation, Meadow continues to remember her father with occasional moving tributes.
In April, the model reflected on a memorable moment, sharing a never-before-seen video of herself surprising her father on one of his birthdays. “I never thought I’d share this,” Meadow wrote in the caption accompanying the video. “But it felt right. Be good. I love you. Stay safe. xx.”
“Hi!” Meadow shouts at her dad in the clip, who jumps at the sight of her after opening a door. Paul then falls back onto a bed in laughter as his daughter wishes him a happy birthday. “You just scared the hell out of me,” Paul says before giving his daughter a big hug.
Earlier this year in May, meadow shared a fun throwback snap of her dad with his hair tied in ponytails. She captioned the photo, “This kind of sunshine is hard to find, my best friend forever.”
Even after her father’s death, Meadow has continued to maintain a close relationship with Vin Diesel’s children. A couple of months back in June, the model shared an adorable selfie with all three of Diesel’s children. Daughters, Pauline (who was named after the late actor), 5, and Similce, 12, as well as son Vincent, 10. She had captioned the snapshot, “Family, forever,” making sure to tag her godfather, Diesel.
