Pandemic Road Trip Comedy Stop And Go Trailer Poster Tease

The first video and poster for Mallory Everton and Whitney Call’s COVID-19 pandemic-set road trip dramedy, Stop and Go, have arrived.

The film, which was co-written by the Studio C alums and co-directed by Everton and Stephen Meek, follows sisters Blake and Jamie as they are forced to break quarantine to rescue their grandmother and her beloved dog from her nursing home after cases start pouring in from the facility, and they beat their sister there after she embarks on a cruise with potentially infected passengers.

Julia Jolley and Anne Sward Hansen join Everton and Call in the cast of the film.

Stop And Go Official Trailer

The first trailer for NEON and Bleecker Street’s joint effort DECAL’s Stop and Go has been released, following its premiere at the 2021 South by Southwest Film Festival.

The video delves deeper into the laughter that arises from the sisters’ journey and their experiences with hasty and suspicious persons in an age when trusting such people is difficult.

Take a look at the hilarious trailer below:

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, several filmmakers have attempted to create films based on the worldwide disaster in order to keep their creative juices going.

The results have ranged from critically hailed films like Bo Burnham’s Inside to critically panned thrillers like Songbird, but all indications are that Stop and Go will fall on the former side of the spectrum.

The dramedy seeks to deliver plenty of therapeutic fun to those who have felt eager to break out in the past year, taking a more comedic and lighthearted approach to the subject and infusing it with the same comedy stylings as Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart and Natalie Morales’ Plan B.

Early responses to Stop and Go have been strong, with critics giving the film an 83 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, drawing favourable comparisons to Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar and praising its levity for its subject matter.

With any hope, the film will become another road trip classic, as well as one of the greatest set during the pandemic. When the film opens in cinemas and on digital platforms on October 1, only time will tell.
