Oops! Badshah’s latest song with Jacqueline Fernandez, Genda Phool faces plagiarism issues
The popular Indian rapper Badshah had recently released a song featuring Jacqueline Fernandez, Genda Phool, which is now facing plagiarism allegations!
It was on March 26th when the popular Indian rapper had released his latest song, Genda Phool. It also features the actress Jacqueline Fernandez. While the song has become really popular and crossed 65 Million views already, it has now fallen into some trouble.
Badshah has been accused to use lyrics of a Bengali folk song in his track without giving due credit to the original writer. Apparently, the song has the lyrics “Borlok er Bitilo, lomba lomba chul…lal genda phool” from the original folk song Borloker Bitilo. And the folk song was originally written by Ratan Kahar.
According to reports, the issue came into light when a Doctoral researcher in France named Arghya Bose wrote a letter to West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee. He urged her to look into the matter and make sure that Kahar gets his due share.
There has not been any response on the allegations from the team of the song Genda Phool. It will be interesting to see what Badshah has to say on this!
Meanwhile, the song has performed phenomenally after its digital release as people are consuming digital content after the national lockdown. The song see Jacqueline in a Bengali avatar and Badshah in his usual uber cool look.
