Milap Zaveri ridicules Nepometer app, calls Nepotism debate ‘a joke’

Bollywood director Milap Zaveri has slammed the nepometer app, calling the debate of nepotism a joke for the entertainment industry!

The debate of nepotism is on its all time high as people are angry with how Bollywood industry has been treating the outsiders. After the death of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput, people have been slamming the starkids and other celebs for promoting nepotism.

The late actor’s brother-in-law Vishal Kirti has started an app called nepometer which gauges how nepotistic a film is. The app has rated the upcoming film Sadak 2 and has termed it as 98% nepotistic. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur.

One of the latest tweets by the app’s handle says, “#Sadak2 is 98% Nepotistic. We rated it based on 5 categories, Producer, Lead Artists, Supporting Artists, Director & Writer. 4 out of 5 categories have Bollywood Family members. When #nepometer is high it’s time to #boycottbollywood. Will you watch this movie? Tell us in comments.”

Now the director Milap Zaveri has ridiculed the app, calling the debate of nepotism a joke. He tweeted saying “This is an Absolutely ridiculous meter to even have started. All the stars and makers of this film have given bonafide Blockbusters coz of their talent/love of audiences. Since decades. Film family or not, in the end audiences embrace who THEY want. The nepotism debate is a joke.”

After the actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, people have been trolling the starkids. Celebs like Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor for promoting nepotism in the industry.  Other B-town celebs like Kangana Ranaut and Raveena Tandon have also taken a stand against constant nepotism happening in the industry.
