Matthew Perry Splits With His Two-Year Love Molly Hurwitz; Ends Engagement

Matthew Perry announced the end of his more than two-year relationship with literature manager Molly Hurwitz, just days after appearing at the ‘Friends’ reunion.

Just five days after the reunion, Matthew Perry had some sad news to share with the world: he ended his relationship and engagement with 29-year-old Molly Hurwitz.

What Did He Say?

“Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly all the best, ”said Matthew, 51, who played Chandler Bing at Friends.

Matthew and Molly were engaged for six months before deciding to separate.

Matthew announced his engagement on Thanksgiving Day in November 2020, telling PEOPLE at the time, “I decided to get engaged. Fortunately, at that time I fell in love with the greatest woman in the world. ”

Love Life

Prior to the announcement, Matthew had been dating Molly – who works for Zero Gravity Management – for two years after starting a relationship in 2018.

However, they were not photographed together until the holiday season in December 2019. Having a very private relationship going on; Molly’s Instagram page is even more confidential, even though she reportedly gave a Valentine’s Day story shout-out to Matthew in February 2020.

Friends Reunion

The news came after Matthew met with colleagues Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer at a friends reunion, which HBO Max released as a special on May 27.

Each cast member was reportedly offered “at least” $2.5 million for filming the reunion, according to The Wall Street Journal. The cast reminisced on their time on the beloved sitcom that aired between 1994-2004, and shared behind-the-scenes details that were new to fans (like the fact that Jen and David were apparently crushing on each other).

However, some fans have expressed concern over Matthew’s health amid reunions, after the actor had previously battled alcohol and drug addiction.

The reunion director, Ben Winston, responded to the concern, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “People can sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him. He’s a brilliantly funny man and I thought he had some great one-liners in the show. I felt just happy and lucky to be in his presence and directing him on something like this.”
