Marvel Is Hiding the Eternals’ Most Likely Avengers Leader

The most likely leader of the Avengers is being kept hidden by the Eternals film. In the first trailer, Ikaris (Richard Madden) was mentioned as a possible leader of the Avengers.

It was meant to be a joke, but it doesn’t rule out the possibility that the events of the film will influence who leads Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the future.

Most Likely Avengers Leader

The situation of the Avengers is currently in flux, with Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow all gone. It wasn’t until Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings that there was any indication that the team was still functioning. The question of who is in charge remains unanswered.

It’s possible that since the end of the Infinity Saga, none of the active MCU superheroes have risen to the occasion. Furthermore, the fact that the Avengers are without a leader suggests that no replacement has been discovered in the timeline of the Eternals film.

It could be years before someone else takes over, however, the individual who will fill this position could be introduced as early as Eternals. Despite his limited promotion, the Black Knight, aka Dane Whitman, a key Avengers character in Marvel Comics, is one of the greatest prospects for the post in the MCU. Whitman, played by Kit Harington, is Sersi’s modern-day love interest and a human with no obvious superpowers. Whitman’s character will not become the Black Knight or even wield the Ebony Blade, according to Marvel, making him a less-than-obvious contender for the future Avengers leader.

Black Knight lacks superpowers

The history of Black Knight in comic books shows why Marvel may be considering him as the next hero to lead the team. Dane Whitman may not have had much of a presence in comics in the previous two decades, but he was a fixture throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.

Black Knight was later promoted to field leader of the team, partly as a result of his long association with the group. He even became the face of The Avengers comic, appearing on the covers and in stories more frequently than any other character at the period.

Unlike many of his allies, Black Knight lacks superpowers, but his superb swordsmanship and tactical mind made him a good option for the role.
