Margot Robbie to star in new Pirates of the Caribbean movie

Margot Robbie is set to star in the reboot of Pirates of the Caribbean.

The screenwriter of the Harley Quinn movie, Birds of Prey is ready to write the new female-centric Pirates of the Caribbean. It is not expected to be the spin-off of the original movie by Disney. The story will be different from the actual one with new characters.

The project is going to be different from Pirates of the Caribbean reboot that was reported last year. It is still under development. Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the previous films will also be producing the reboot and Robbie’s movie.

The famous franchise has earned over $4.5 billion for Disney. The first movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, came out in 2003.

Various sequels followed the blockbuster hit such as 2006’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, 2007’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Johnny Depp has always been the one leading the franchise from the beginning. He played the beloved character of Captain Jack Sparrow, along with Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, and Penelope Cruz.

The 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, has been the lowest-grossing film in the entire franchise.

Johnny Depp has faced a lot of backlash because of his controversial relationship with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Heard falsely accused Depp of harassing her for several years. But recently, audio clips of their conversations have been released and it seems like it was the other way around. The actor has denied the claims and said that he was the actual victim.

Although Johnny did revisit his character during lockdown for a virtual children’s hospital visit. But it seems likely that he will not be able to play the amazing Captain Jack Sparrow ever again.

The actor wore the costume of his character to life the spirits of the children. The cameo was live-streamed on Juiced Tv’s Facebook page. He says that it has been a couple of years since he has been there. Depp says he misses it and calls it a wonderful facility.

“I’m with all of you and I send you all my love, all my irreverence, and ignorance because it’s fun to be irreverent and ignorant. Thank you for sticking with me through all these very strange years,” he said.

Johnny took in hand the opportunity and expressed gratitude to the health-care workers amid the pandemic. He also seemed grateful thanking them to allow having to spend time with them.

“But I thank you all for allowing me to have this time with you – either as Johnny or as Captain Jack,” Depp said.

Margot Robbie’s latest movie, Birds of Prey, was released earlier this year. The actress was representing the famous DC character, Harley Quinn. The character left Joker and established her group, Birds of Prey.

Birds of Prey engrossed over $201 million worldwide. Fans all over the world loved the character and appreciated Robbie for her work.

Margot first played the role of Harley Quinn in the movie Suicide Squad. She will be playing the same character in the sequel of Suicide Squad.
