Madhuri Dixit Inaugurates India’s First Marathi OTT Platform ‘Planet Marathi’

The veteran beauty queen of Bollywood Madhuri Dixit recently launched India’s first Marathi OTT platform ‘Planet Marathi’ at a grand event.

Madhuri Dixit was officially named the first subscriber of the Planet Marathi app. The actress is an avid lover of Marathi entertainment and binge watches a lot of Marathi films and web series.

‘Exclusive Marathi Entertainment’

“In my opinion, Planet Marathi OTT is exactly what global citizens of Maharashtrian origin were waiting for,” she said.

A lot of binge-worthy content combined with an exclusive entertainment experience for the Marathi community fascinated Madhuri Dixit at the launch event.

She said “Launching an app exclusively for Marathi entertainment is a great step taken by Akshay (Bardapurkar) and his team. This has taken our industry ahead of the curve.”

Birth Of Planet Marathi

Planet Marathi founder Akshay Bardapurkar also graced the inaugural ceremony with his presence.

Other well-known personalities of the Hindi and Marathi cinema were also present at the launch of Planet Marathi. Amruta Khanvilkar, Sonalee Kulkarni, Prasad Oak, Siddharth Jadhav, Sanjay Jadhav, Tejaswwini Pandit, and Prajakta Mali were few of them.

According to Akshay Bardapurkar, the Marathi entertainment industry was doing wonders but there was no one-stop platform to watch all original Marathi content. This is what led to the idea of India’s first Marathi OTT platform.

He said “Planet Marathi strives to bring promising content, meaningful entertainment for every segment of Marathi audience.”

Planet Marathi Content Library

Planet Marathi has an epic library of over 1,000+ hours of Marathi content. Some of the original shows launched on Planet Marathi app are ‘Sopa Nasata Kaahi’, ‘Hing Pustak Talwar’, ‘Bap Beep Bap’, ‘Jobless’ and ‘Parees’.

Apart from web shows, there are also a host of films, music, karaoke, and plays available on Planet Marathi OTT.
