Kristen Stewart’s First Look As Princess Diana in Spencer

Kristen Stewart has started shooting for her highly anticipated roles to date of Princess Diana. The first look was released from Pablo Larrain’s Spencer.

It was picked up by Neon and Topic Studios for US distribution. In the image, the actress was seen as the late princess in the classic head-tilt pose. This is surely going to leave a mark as the princess was and is beloved by many of her fans to date.

The movie was announced back in 2020’s virtual Cannes Market. Spencer’s script is written by Steven Knight who is known for Peaky Blinders as well as Locked Down. The movie is set over a critical weekend in the early 90s when Princess Diana decided that she needed to end her marriage to Prince Charles.

The movie revolves around the three days of Diana’s life as it includes her last Christmas holidays as a member of the House of Windsor. The weekend and the breaking of their marriage was also recently included in the latest season of Netflix’s The Crown. The role of Diana was played by Emma Corrin as Josh O’Connor played the role of Prince Charles.

Spencer will also include Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris according to the new announcement. The filming will be taking place in Germany and the UK. It is also expected to released during autumn of 2021 which will mark the year before the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2022.

Kristen had revealed that Spencer is a “dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life”. She further explained that it is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts. This starts with her name: Spencer and it is an effort for Diana to return to herself.

Kristen’s Highly-Anticipated Role

The Twilight actress shared that Diana tries to hold on to what the name Spencer meets to her. Spencer is being produced by Larrain who has also produced films like Jackie and Neruda. Juan de Dios will also join the team along with Jonas Dornbach and Janine Jackowski for Komplizen Film and Paul Webster for Shoebox Films.

The producers expressed their gratitude for the support they received from their distributors worldwide and their partners and funders. They said all of them have made a tremendous commitment to them in these times. The producers added that Kristen Stewart, Steven Knight, and the rest of the team both front and behind the camera are bringing Spencer to the world.

They further added, “With Kristen Stewart, Steven Knight, and the rest of our fantastic team both in front and behind the camera, we are bringing Spencer to the world. It is an independently produced film made for the big screen about an iconic woman’s own declaration of independence. We couldn’t be more excited!”

Their creative team also includes Claire Mathon who is the director of photography, costume designer Jacqueline Durran; makeup and hair designer Wakana Yoshihara (Murder on the Orient Express, High Rise); and Guy Hendrix Dyas (Academy Award nominee for Passengers and Inception) is the production designer. Composing the original score is Academy Award, BAFTA, and Grammy Award nominee, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.

Spencer has executive producers like Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, and Christina Zisa for Neon and Michael Bloom; Maria Zuckerman, and Ryan Heller for Topic Studios.
