Kristen Stewart has started shooting for her highly anticipated roles to date of Princess Diana. The first look was released from Pablo Larrain’s Spencer.
It was picked up by Neon and Topic Studios for US distribution. In the image, the actress was seen as the late princess in the classic head-tilt pose. This is surely going to leave a mark as the princess was and is beloved by many of her fans to date.
The movie was announced back in 2020’s virtual Cannes Market. Spencer’s script is written by Steven Knight who is known for Peaky Blinders as well as Locked Down. The movie is set over a critical weekend in the early 90s when Princess Diana decided that she needed to end her marriage to Prince Charles.
The movie revolves around the three days of Diana’s life as it includes her last Christmas holidays as a member of the House of Windsor. The weekend and the breaking of their marriage was also recently included in the latest season of Netflix’s The Crown. The role of Diana was played by Emma Corrin as Josh O’Connor played the role of Prince Charles.
Spencer will also include Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris according to the new announcement. The filming will be taking place in Germany and the UK. It is also expected to released during autumn of 2021 which will mark the year before the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death in 2022.
Kristen had revealed that Spencer is a “dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life”. She further explained that it is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts. This starts with her name: Spencer and it is an effort for Diana to return to herself.
Kristen’s Highly-Anticipated Role
