Kim Kardashian Buys Janet Jackson’s ‘If’ Music Video Outfit For $25K
Kim Kardashian celebrated Janet Jackson’s birthday this weekend by becoming the owner of one of her classic music video outfits.
The reality star won a custom-made top and pants that were worn by Janet in her 1998 music video, If. She spent a whopping $25,000 to buy the outfit. The KKW Beauty co-owner took to her Instagram as she revealed her win. She wrote she is Janet’s fan and for her birthday she won the outfit at Julien’s Auctions.
Kim shared a clip of the ‘If’ video and an image of Janet donning the outfit. Janet also responded to the reality star’s excitement. She wrote back, “Thank u so much @kimkardashian! I hope ‘IF’ gives u as much pleasure as it did me.”
The auction, “Iconic Treasures From the Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson” was held on May 16. This was also when Janet celebrated her 55th birthday. The star had collaborated with Julien’s Auctions to sell more than 1,000 items from her career. This also included her personal treasures as well. The auction took place in Beverley Hills, California.
All the money received from the auction will go to Compassion International, an organization that helps children escape poverty.
