Kelly’s divorce

Kelly got emotional while singing about forgiveness as she goes through her own divorce. Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock on June 4, citing irreconcilable differences. Their separation date is yet to be decided. The pair, who were married for nearly 7 years before the split, share 2 kids. Daughter River Rose, who turned 6 earlier this month, and son Remington Alexander, 4. Blackstock is also father to son Seth, 13, and daughter Savannah, 18, from a previous marriage.

Clarkson’s history with “It’s Quiet Uptown”

It is the singer’s tradition to perform a different cover song on each episode. However, this song was special as it goes way back. Kelly previously covered the song for The Hamilton Mixtape album, a 2016 album. The Hamilton Mixtape features Nas, Aloe Blacc, Usher, Sia, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa and Chance the Rapper.

The filmed version of Hamilton stage show, which features the original Broadway cast, will premiere Friday on Disney+. Filmed at Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theater in June 2016, the Tony award winning musical features creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, as Hamilton.

Kelly even found out who’s in charge of getting the dance party started backstage. Renée Elise Goldsberry and Onaodowan were responsible for the same. However, Odom hosted the intermission dance party on the last show day of the week.
