Karan Johar Ready For Takht Release Next Year

Karan Johar is about to work on one of his most expensive yet ambitious project. The filmmaker is collaborating with producer Hiroo Yash Johar.

The first look of the project ‘Takht’ is out. Actor Ranveer Singh who will be featuring in the movie shared the news on Instagram.

Besides, Ranveer Singh, the movie boasts of a huge star cast which includes Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Janhvi Kapoor.

STORY OF THE MUGHAL ERA

The historical drama revolves around the life of Mughal Era with Anil Kapoor playing the role of Shah Jahan. The story continues with Shah Jahan’s two sons clashing against each other.

Moreover, the role of the sons includes Vicky Kaushal playing as Aurangzeb and Ranveer Singh will be playing the role of elder brother Dara Shikoh.

Further, Vicky Kaushal is excited about the prospect of collaborating with Ranveer Singh. The Uri actor shared “I absolutely love him. There were times when we were sitting on each other’s laps only. It’s going to be a bit difficult to play warring brothers but I’m looking forward to working with him.”

At the same time, Takht is already facing a boycott by some fans who demand an explanation from filmmaker Karan Johar related to content of the film being Anti-Islam. However, Karan was quick to knock down any such controversy and replied “My dear, you are talking to a filmmaker who’s directed a film called ‘My name is Khan’ My sensitivities to religions across the world will always be on point. That’s something I believe in as a human being, as a citizen of this great country and generally as a world citizen. Sensitivities to everyone and everything are something that we all take very deep care of. Also, with Takht, this isn’t a story that I wrote. History wrote this story, I’m only telling it.
