Kanye West Rebrands Again: Now Officially Known as “Ye Ye”
Kanye West, the artist formerly known as Kanye Omari West, has legally changed his name for the second time in recent years. According to new business filings obtained by Page Six, West’s chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani, has submitted documents to the California Secretary of State listing him as “Ye Ye.” This change affects several of West’s ventures, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc.
This move follows West’s 2021 decision to legally change his name to “Ye,” a moniker he had used for years. At that time, he explained that “Ye” is the most commonly used word in the Bible, meaning “you,” and represents a reflection of the collective human experience.
The significance of “Ye Ye” remains unclear. Some speculate that it could be a stylistic update, while others suggest it may represent a deeper personal or artistic transformation. However, West has not publicly commented on the change, and it’s uncertain whether this will impact his upcoming projects or public appearances.
This rebranding aligns with West’s history of self-reinvention, as he has previously adopted various names and personas throughout his career. Whether “Ye Ye” is a temporary phase or a permanent shift remains to be seen, but it undoubtedly adds another layer to the ever-evolving identity of one of the most influential figures in contemporary music and fashion.
