K-Pop Singer Ailee Shares The Diet That Helped Her Lose 10Kg Weight In A Month

Ailee is a Korean-American singer and songwriter. Fans of the singer have been super impressed with her recent weight loss transformation. However, just like there are two sides to a coin, Ailee’s weigh loss journey was also a tough one!

Aielee, also known as Amy Lee, talked about her body transformation and diet that helped her put down 10kg body weight in a single month.

Body-shaming Experience

Ailee revealed on Channel A’s variety program “Oh Eun Young’s Golden Counseling Center,” that she felt very heavy burden of people’s opinion about her body.

Ailee says she was asked to put on more weight when she was skinny but when she started eating more and gaining weight, the same people started pointing her out for being overweight and unattractive.

Ailee spent a lot of time pindering upon what other people thought about her appearance.

She says to Dr. Oh Eun Young that “When I gained weight because [netizens] had told me I was too skinny, they would then say that I gained weight. I maintained the same weight for around 3-4 years now, but if I look even a little puffy, they would say I gained weight.”

Diet And Workout

Talking about her 10kg weight loss in one month, she gives an insight into the foods she ate and what her daily routine was like.

“In one month, I lost 10~11kg. At that time, I ate 100 grams of protein, two cups of vegetables, and a single fruit piece for one meal. Like that, I ate two meals in one day. That added up to 500 calories per day.”

Due to significantly low amount of calories in the singer’s body, she developed vocal cord nodules and began to experience weakness in her body.

She would also exercise on top of completing her full schedule.

Calorie Intake

Dr. Oh Eyn Young insisted that a human body needs above 1,000 calories to survive.

Do you know how much the minimum calories consumption is for survival? It is 1,600 to 1,700 calories for men and 1,200 calories for women. It takes that much to lie still, blink, breathe, and for your heart to stay beating. If you don’t eat even that much, you are using up the existing energy of your body just to stay alive. Then, that becomes a health problem.”
