Johnny Depp And Amber Heard To Arrive At Court Separately

Johnny Depp and estranged wife, Amber Heard were into meetings all day to prepare their case to the High Court which started yesterday. They were in meetings the entire day.

Their lawyers are working towards making sure that the warring couple arrives separately. They don’t want them to confront each other in any way which seems like a risk.

The pair are expected to attend each day of trial. They have been at war for three years. Johnny Depp is suing The Sun for publishing an article that was not appropriate. Along with the newspaper, its executive editor is also being sued by Depp. The article said J. K. Rowling might be crazy to cast Johnny Depp in the Harry Potter spin-off movie.

The actor will be in court for three days starting on July 7. He denies of having violently abused Amber. Depp has been preparing for the past two days with his lawyer, Adam Waldman. Both of them arrived in London over the weekend to prepare for the trial. The trial will include celebrities too for giving evidence including Depp’s former partners Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder.

In court, Depp is being represented by David Sherborne. On behalf of News Group Newspapers (NGN), publishers of The Sun, Adam Wolanski QC will be representing. Depp is suing the newspaper in an article where they call Depp a ‘wife-beater’. It appeared in a headline reading; ‘Gone Potty How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ casting wife-beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?’

The article called Johnny a wife-beater and it consisted of all the allegations made by Amber Heard that he was abusive to her. However, he denies these claims.

Amber Heard has hired a legal human rights lawyer, Jennifer Robinson. Robinson also represents Julian Assange, to advise her. She will be beside Heard during the trial. Robinson has also prepared Heard for the witness box by spending several hours with her. They have been preparing since last week. An insider said: ‘They’re both going to spend a long-time giving evidence and their credibility as witnesses are what the whole case rests on. Lawyers from both camps have been working them hard to ensure that they get all their points across and are consistent in what they say.’

The insider continued saying the lawyers will be picking holes in their testimonies. They further said that providing evidence will be difficult for both parties and the trial is going to be like a Hollywood blockbuster.

Johnny failed at a bid last week about having Amber banned from the court. This meant that she will not have been watching her ex-husband provide evidence or witness. But she was called by NGN as a witness.
The trial will be on 14 different incidents of domestic abuse. The lawyers for NGN, however, argue describes that the article by Wootton was not derogatory.

Reportedly, the trial is costing both Depp and NGN 1 million euros each in legal fees. All these months have only sensationalized the trial even more. It has been a war on both sides over what could be made public and what could not be made public.

In one of the hearings, Depp was accused of sending texts which included him saying he would ‘drown’ and ‘burn’ his wife then ‘f*** the corpse.’ NGN has gone through 70,000 texts and it will be provided as evidence. Some of them reportedly prove that Johnny was violent towards Amber.

In another hearing, Depp’s lawyers claimed that Amber had extra-marital affair with two men, Elon Musk and James Franco while she was with Johnny. However, both men have denied these claims.

The hearing will also discuss their trip to Australia in detail. Johnny allegedly sent text messages asking for drugs, claims The Sun. They will also claim that he physically assaulted Amber for three days and held her hostage in the country.

Depp is also prosecuting Heard for $50 million in the US over a column she wrote in the Washington Post. She defined herself as a “domestic abuse” victim. Although Depp was not named in the column, he claims it defamed him. His claim against the Sun is said to have a major impact on the result of the hearing.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met at the sets of 2011 comedy The Rum Diary. They got married in 2015 in Los Angeles. In 2016, Amber accused Johnny of abusing her for which she obtained a restraining order against him. Johnny denied these claims.

The couple settled their divorce out of court in 2017. Heard donated her seven million US dollars (£5.5 million) settlement to charity.
