Jin of BTS imagines what it would be like if the group had to go on without him

“Life goes on,” BTS reminds fans in the BE single. But, if one of the band members were to leave, does the band still want to continue? In a June feature article for Rolling Stone, the artists discussed this possibility.

Bang Si-hyuk, the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, signed RM in 2010 and is well-known among K-pop fans. His six bandmates—Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, Jimin, and Jin—didn’t make their official debut as BTS until 2013. BTS has had many No. 1 singles, received several awards, and developed a loyal ARMY of fans over the years. The musicians have renegotiated their deal with Big Hit Entertainment in 2018 to confirm their engagement as a band for the next seven years, according to Rolling Stone.

Men between the ages of 18 and 28 in South Korea, on the other hand, are traditionally expected to serve in the military for two years. Jin turned 28 in December, but the government passed a bill enabling him to delay serving until he is 30.

“”I think the nation said, ‘You’re doing this well, so we’ll give you a little more time,'” he told the publication, adding that military service is “an necessary responsibility for our country.” So I’m planning to work as hard as I can and do whatever I can before I’m called.”

“I have no doubt that the other members will make the best decision they can because, you know, I can’t tell them what to do,” he said. What if anything like this happened? “I’ll be disappointed,” he said, “but I’ll be pulling for them on the internet.”

Jin isn’t the only one who has considered this problem. Suga and J-Hope are both 28 years old. “We haven’t discussed it in the specifics amongst ourselves,” V said, adding that the bandmates “haven’t discussed it in the specifics amongst ourselves.”

One thing is certain: they will all be devoted to their ARMY. “I’m not sure I’ve ever considered not being a member of this party,” Jimin said. “I’m not sure what I’d do if I were on my own…. I’d like to believe that when I’m too old to dance, all I want to do is sit onstage with the other members and sing and interact with the audience. That, too, I think would be fantastic. As a result, I’d like to keep this going for as long as I can.”
