Jeremy Renner Reveals What His Avengers Musical Hawkeye Song Would Be

For his new series Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner reveals the title of his own Avengers-inspired musical composition. Since his uncredited cameo appearance in 2011’s Thor; the Academy Award-nominated actor has played the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s skilled marksman.

Renner has since appeared in a number of Avengers films, as well as Captain America: Civil War. Now, he’ll have his chance to shine in his own solo film; which will premiere on Disney+ on November 24.

Jeremy’s Clint Barton is slated to pass the Hawkeye mantle onto his young superfan Kate Bishop; played by another Oscar-nominated actress, Hailee Steinfeld, in the future series. Clint’s desire to spend Christmas with his family in New York City is jeopardized by Kate’s disguised as his dark alter-ego Ronin; who attracts his attention and reawakens old foes from his past.

Despite this, he appears to enjoy some of the local fare, such as the Broadway production Rogers: The Musical; which has a piece titled “I Can Do This All Day” in allusion to Captain America’s famous catchphrase.

Now, during a recent interview with Screen Rant, Renner and Steinfeld were asked hypothetically what song would headline Hawkeye’s musical if the Avenger ever got his own Broadway production. Now, during a recent interview with Screen Rant, Renner and Steinfeld were asked hypothetically; what song would headline Hawkeye’s musical if the Avenger ever got his own Broadway production.

“Just Can’t Seem to Miss,” a reference to the golf analogy his character makes in Civil War: “I played 18, I shot 18, just can’t seem to miss,” a suitable mantra for the master archer.

One of the most memorable moments from Hawkeye’s debut teaser was Clint taking his kids to watch Rogers: The Musical; an in-universe Broadway production that purports to represent the Chitauri invasion; and the accompanying Battle of New York; as seen in the 2012 Avengers film. The stage presentation contains many of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Thor, Hulk; Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye, in addition to the titular Steve Rogers.

Rogers: The Musical will be interesting to see how the Avengers have become a part of popular culture within the MCU; however, based on the teaser, Clint doesn’t seem amused by it; presumably since he actually participated in the Battle of New York; and doesn’t want to see it treated so casually. Even though there will never be a Hawkeye musical; audiences will get a taste of Rogers: The Musical when the series starts on November 24.
