Jeremy Renner requested that Marvel recast Hawkeye in this condition

Although Jeremy Renner is undoubtedly the greatest fit for the character of Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, it appears that the actor could have been replaced by another celebrity if Marvel had not agreed to a major condition imposed by the actor.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the 50-year-old actor remembered giving Marvel Studios an ultimatum to recast him as Hawkeye if they couldn’t agree to his plan of allowing him to spend a fixed amount of time with his family.

Marvel to recast Hawkeye

The actor stated that he was unconcerned about his role, but that he wanted to make sure he had enough time with his daughter Ava Berlin, who was born in 2013. The actor revealed that he traveled from London to Los Angeles for a year and a half to spend quality time with his kid during filming.

“It taught me how to have the nuts to say, ‘Everyone, f**** off,” the actor told Men’s Health about prioritizing his family. “I’m spending time with my daughter.” ‘Fine, recast me,’ I responded. ‘I’ll be here with my daughter,’ she says. It was a lot of fun.”

In reality, the actor adheres to the guideline in all of his films, not just those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “Acting and everything else goes out the window until my daughter says, ‘I want to hang out with my friends, and I don’t want to be around you so much, Daddy,'” Renner continued, “until my daughter says, ‘I want to hang out with my friends, and I don’t want to be around you so much, Daddy.”

In the upcoming series Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Hawkeye opposite Hailee Steinfeld, who will make her MCU debut as Kate Bishop.
