Jason Momoa Reveals He Was ‘In Debt’ After Being Killed Off In Game Of Thrones

Jason Mamoa recently revealed what happened after his much-loved Game of Thrones character was killed off. The show has been a hit earning 32 Emmy nominations for its final season. GOT also received the award for being Outstanding Drama Series and won 11 trophies.

However, the actor who played the great Khal Drogo revealed he did not win anything after his character was out of the show. He revealed that his character as Khal Drogo did not get him enough fame and recognition that the stars have today.

The HBO series originates from the book written by George R. R. Martin. The show has given fame to its other stars like Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke, and Kit Harrington. However, Jason shares he was starving after Game of Thrones.

He said, “I couldn’t get work. It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.” The actor’s character was killed off after marrying Emilia’s character, Daenerys.

He struggled to make amends meet as payments of his house were pending. Jason lived near Los Angeles with his wife, Lisa Bonet, and their two kids. The actor revealed his situation improved five years from there and he was cast as Aquaman.

Jason Open To Embrace His Masculine & Feminine Side

The movie series is based on DC Comics and he took upon the role in 2016. He played Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor also played the character in Justice League in 2017 as well as his independent film, Aquaman.

Jason shared that he is learning to be a good dad after being financially dependent. He revealed that he grew up without a dad at home and did not know what it takes to be one. The actor shared that he did not want to tell his son,  “‘Because I said so.’” He said, “I really want to connect, and I want him to be vulnerable and open.”

Jason also revealed that he is open to exploring both his masculine and feminine sides. He shared that he wants to grow as a person. However, the actor shared, “I’m also the first one to say, ‘I have a lot of problems, and I want to be able to correct those problems.'”

The Aquaman star explained that he does not take his success for granted. He shared that he still feels like a kid because he freaks out. The actor is set to appear in Dune along with Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya. However, the film’s release has been pushed back to October 2021.
