According to News 18, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi will star in Karan Johar’s next film, which will be helmed by Raj Mehta, who also directed Good Newwz. “This is the first time the two actors are going to work together,” a person connected to the project stated. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence, which starred Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. While Akshay takes on the part of Prithviraj and portrays a rockstar, Emraan will reprise his role as a traffic cop who is also a diehard follower of the superstar played by Suraj.”

“The shooting is expected to begin early next year,” the source continues. Raj is now working on Jug Jugg Jeeyo, an upcoming family drama starring Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Neetu Kapoor. There will be one song for which the unit will travel to Russia, after which the film will enter post-production.”

Akshay And Sara Ali Khan To unite for Atrangi re

The release date for his film Atrangi Re, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, is yet to be revealed. The film’s production began early this year and was completed earlier this year. Akshay told HT City that the Atrangi Re team is thinking about a direct-to-OTT release.

He confirmed the same, saying, “To be honest, I haven’t included Atrangi Re on the list yet since we’re still discussing whether it should be released theatrically or on Netflix. And, as it stands now, OTT may simply be Atrangi Re’s favorite medium.”
