IPL 2021: The Delhi Capitals team will go for the UAE on Saturday; no captaincy selection has been made yet
The Delhi Capitals (DC) will go to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday for the second leg of the Indian Premier League’s 14th edition (IPL). Some players will join the team after their international commitments are completed, including star batsman Shreyas Iyer, who is already in the UAE with a fitness coach.
Let us point you that Iyer was unable to participate in the first leg due to injuries. In his absence, the team was led by Rishabh Pant. In this case, no decision has been made as to who would now captain both of them. This information has been provided by the franchisee.
Delhi Capitals To UAE
“Delhi Capitals will leave for UAE on Saturday morning for the IPL 2021,” a Delhi Capitals official told news agency ANI. With domestic players and officials, the team will depart from Delhi. Domestic players have already been quarantined in the national capital and will spend a week in the UAE. Their camp will begin after that.
“Shreyas Iyer is already in the UAE with a fitness coach, and the rest of the Indian, South African, and English players will join the team after their international duties are completed,” the official stated. It’s still up in the air whether Pant or Iyer will be the captain. The management of the team has yet to make a decision on this.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have arrived in the UAE for the IPL 2021. The tournament’s 14th season was postponed in May of this year due to the Corona pandemic.
There had been 29 matches played by that time. It will now continue on September 19 in Dubai with a match between Chennai and Mumbai. There will be 13 matches in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi. On October 15, the final match will take place.
