INSANIYAT ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY WITH A BANG

Children’s Day is a cause to celebrate and Arjun Meghe, President of Insaniyat Association wanted to make sure that was the case everywhere. Basti BBQ was an event conceptualised with that thought and after a successful first edition in 2017, the event was back this year.

Delicious food, games, live music performances and some of the city’s best pop-up restaurants came together to give the kids of Worli an evening to remember. La Loca Maria’s Chef Manuel Olivera curated exquisite back to school lunch boxes for the kids whereas New York Burrito Company handed out fresh hot burritos in their pop-up restaurant. For drinks, the kids were delighted with Henopro, which offers nutritious shakes and Poshn, to keep them refreshed and hydrated during the long evening.

There is nothing that beats the merriment of entertainment and live music – so rappers MC Ben, MC Azad, Jayhan gave explosive performances along with the entertainment company, Most Wanted Records. The event also featured booths for spray painting, face painting and other interactive activities. The event was covered by Mumbai Foodie and Erika Packard. If that wasn’t enough, the evening ended on a high note with Sooraj Pancholi making an appearance and ensured everyone present had memories to last a life time.

“We aim to do this every year for the kids of Worli – I am hopeful that with every passing year we get bigger, better and are able to reach more kids” said Arjun Meghe, President of Insaniyat Association after the event.
