IND vs ENG : Top Moments from the 4th Test match

The fourth test match between India and England had some splendid moments. Let’s have a look at them and this time, you get to vote for your favorite one!

Umesh’s Impressive Bowling

Umesh Yadav was in sensational bowling form as he got out the batsman in red hot form – Joe Root. And not only that, he got him out the way most coaches teach the upcoming bowlers – Hit the top of off ( off-stump). With this wicket, he put India in a dominating position. And then the next day, he immediately got rid of the night watchman- Craig Overton. While bowing round the wicket, he grabbed Malan’s crucial wicket, who was looking in good touch.

Chris Woakes Incredible Comeback

Chris Woakes made his presence felt as he got the first wicket of the match – and that too of the Hitman. He was extremely consistent with his line and length. This helped him to strike Jadeja’s wicket as the ball flew to the first slip, safely into the hands of skipper Joe Root. He got Shardul Thakur LBW in the first innings and finally stopped the lower-order batsman’s assault.

And he even shone with the bat. His fifty in the first innings off just 60 balls took England to a respectable score of 290. His fifty featured some powerful shots over the head of the in-circle fielders.

Lord Shardul Supremacy

Shardul Thakur justified his selection in the fourth test with incredible performance with both the bat and ball. His hard-hitting shots and aerial strikes made sure that India reached a fighting score. In the second innings, he took India beyond the 450 mark.

Shardul did some magic with the ball too. He broke the key opening partnership of Burns and Hameed. And of course, the key wicket of Joe Root. Many argued that Shardul deserved the man of the match award for his all-round performance. While that is a point to debate on, there are surely no debates in the fact that Shardul’s contribution in this match was invaluable.

The “Hitman” Show

Rohit mesmerized everyone. Just the way we are used to watching him do. His 127 in the second innings took India to a huge score, the highest team score of the series. And arguably the best moment of his Test career came when he smashed Moeen Ali for a six to reach his maiden overseas test century. Rohit showed patience and composure throughout his batting and capitalized on the weak deliveries.
