HYBE and Naver Webtoon will continue to work together on original webtoon series about BTS and other musicians

Naver Webtoon will create a webtoon series depicting BTS’s journey in order to achieve a successful move into the worldwide market.

“We will be launching a ‘super casting’ initiative where we generate webtoon original contents and external super IPs in collaboration with entertainment sectors that have a worldwide fandom,” Naver said. HYBE Labels and DC Comics are Naver’s first collaboration partners for their “super casting” project. Naver Webtoon intends to produce a webtoon based on BTS and other HYBE Labels artists with an original scenario.

This isn’t the first time Naver Webtoon and BTS have worked together. ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.0: Save Me,’ a webtoon based on BTS’s worldview, was released by Naver Webtoon in January 2019. In addition to BTS, the future webtoon project is likely to be on a much larger scale, as Naver Webtoon will be working with a variety of artists under the HYBE Labels.

The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.0: Save Me is the first webtoon in the BTS Universe, and it aired from January 17 to April 10, 2019. Big Hit Entertainment and the artist LICO collaborated on the webtoon.

TXT, ENHYPEN, NU’EST, Seventeen, ZICO, and more well-known musicians are managed by HYBE Labels. This is most certainly Naver Webtoon’s “secret weapon,” which they have opted to employ in order to maintain their position as the top-ranked webtoon platform. Naver Webtoon is currently in competition with the new ‘Kakao Webtoon,’ which debuted in early August.

The goal of Naver Webtoon is to organize stories about various HYBE musicians. The specific stories involving the artists have yet to be released, although it is possible that they will be about the artists’ progress or a fiction story with the artists as the main protagonists. “As we build characters of new worlds together,” said Naver Webtoon’s CEO, “We will present webtoons that have new content and that new viewers can approach as well.”
