Hawkeye VS Yelena Belova Rumour Addressed

When questioned about Clint Barton’s potential fight with Yelena Belova in Hawkeye; Jeremy Renner has a humorous response. The resident marksman of the Avengers is back with his own Disney+ series. Clint will also continue to battle with his sadness over the loss of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in Avengers: Endgame as part of his arc in the show.

But Natasha Romanoff’s death will affect Hawkeye in more ways than one, as Yelena pursues Clint for the death of her sister. Yelena is set to pursue retribution for what happened to Nat in Cate Shortland’s Black Widow film; which leads to her involvement in Hawkeye.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss) persuaded Yelena that Hawkeye was completely responsible for Black Widow’s death in the film’s post-credits sequence. However, as fans are aware, that is an oversimplification of what occurred in Vormir. In any case, Yelena will be acting under the assumption that Hawkeye was the one who killed Natasha; effectively setting up their feud.

There has been no evidence of Yelena in the two episodes of Hawkeye so far; but it’s safe to presume she’s lurking in the shadows, waiting for the ideal moment to strike. Renner offered a hilarious response when asked about this particular storey piece on his show. The actor recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show; where the host merely stated Yelena’s name. Renner, for his part, claimed to be completely oblivious to her presence.

But, eventually, he admitted what transpired in the post-credits sequence of Black Widow. However, he insisted that he had done nothing wrong. Watch the entire conversation below:

Clint Barton Might Not Be Aware Of Natasha’s Foster Family

Renner’s initial response may be similar to Clint’s behaviour when eventually confronted with Yelena in Hawkeye. Despite the fact that he and Nat were best friends, it’s unknown if she told him about her foster family in Ohio. Nat was already trying to escape out of the Black Widow programme; where Yelena was left, by the time they met.

Except for Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who took her in at SHIELD and declared her an Avenger; there hasn’t been any indication that anyone in the MCU knew Black Widow’s entire past. Clint, on the other hand, is unlikely to be aware of Yelena’s hidden resentment, making their inevitable confrontation all the more interesting.

The first time Clint and Yelena meet in Hawkeye, there will undoubtedly be friction. And, with everything that’s going on in the show right now; including the arrival of Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and the issue with the Mafia Tracksuit; it’ll be interesting to see how Marvel Studios incorporates Yelena into the tale. Finally, it will be interesting to see if her and Clint’s “misunderstanding” will be handled quickly on the show or if it will remain in the MCU for some time.
