Matthew Perry, the star of ‘Friends,’ is planning to release his autobiography in late 2022, claiming that it’s time for him to tell his own experience “directly from the horse’s mouth.” According to femalefirst.co.uk, the actor is preparing to release his own memoir, stating that he believes it is time for him to share his own narrative “directly from the horse’s mouth.”

People magazine quoted him as saying: “Others have written a great deal about me in the past. I figured it was past time for them to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. The horse’s mouth in this scenario is me.”

Perry has reportedly signed a seven-figure deal with Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan, for his upcoming memoir, according to deadline.com.

The title of the book has yet to be determined, but it will be released late next year.

The autobiography will be edited by Megan Lynch, publisher of Flatiron Books, who told Deadline: “We need comedy, catharsis, and something to agree on—and Matthew’s incredible story, presented in his inimitable voice, is just that. Matthew’s work has unrivaled power to unite individuals, which feels especially important at this time of isolation and division.”

FRIENDS reunion

Although it’s unclear how much of Perry’s life will be addressed in his own book, he reunited with his ‘Friends’ co-stars Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer for a long-awaited HBO Max special earlier this year.

The special unveiled a variety of behind-the-scenes secrets from the performers’ time on the show, as well as footage of them reminiscing about their time on the successful show.

Matthew remarked about the show’s long-term legacy before the special aired, saying: “It was a character-driven comedy, not a topical comedy. They didn’t make jokes at specific moments. They didn’t make any references to O.J. Simpson. They made character-driven jokes about people, and people will come back to watch them over and over.”
