Friends are at the top of the list of most-watched Thanksgiving TV episodes

Friends fully dominate when it comes to Thanksgiving TV, according to a new study, with all ten of its Thanksgiving episodes making the list of most-watched Thanksgiving TV.

Friends are one of the most well-known and successful sitcoms of all time; it defined the 1990s and continues to be a major part of contemporary society.

The NBC comedy, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, ran from 1994 to 2004 and made its six main actors international celebrities.

Friends Thanksgiving TV episodes

Friends follow a group of six friends in New York as they face the difficulties, tragedies, and victories of adulthood, as the title suggests. From the start, it’s evident that the six friends are more like family (literally in the instance of Ross (David Schwimmer) and Monica (Courtney Cox).

That notion is confirmed in the first season when the gang’s intended plans fall through and they end up having an unusual but enjoyable Thanksgiving together. The first of 10 Friends Thanksgiving episodes covering ten seasons, “The One Where Underdog Gets Away,” is widely regarded as one of the show’s greatest.

Friends have now been awarded the finest Thanksgiving television show. According to research conducted by US DISH, the season 2 episode “The One With The List” is the most-watched Thanksgiving episode of all time, with 32.9 million viewers when it first aired in 1995. Furthermore, all ten Thanksgiving episodes make the top-fifteen list, dwarfing the other series that just have one episode (including another ’90s classic, Seinfeld).

Check out the list below:

It’s no surprise that “The One With The List” drew such a large audience at the time, as it marked a key moment in Ross and Rachel’s will-they-won’t-they romance. Friends viewers were undoubtedly interested to find out what occurred next after their first kiss at the close of the previous episode, “The One Where Ross Finds Out.” “The One With Rachel’s Other Sister” and “The One With The Rumor,” which featured special guest stars Christina Applegate and Jennifer Aniston’s then-husband, Brad Pitt, respectively, likely pulled in viewers.
