On Saturday, the creators stated that filmmaker Shoojit Sircar had cooperated on a movie with late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil.
Khan and Sircar had more than just an actor-director connection when Khan died in April of last year. Piku, a 2015 comedy-drama starring megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, was the duo’s first collaboration.
In an Instagram post, Sircar’s producing partner Ronnie Lahiri announced their partnership with Babil.
“Irrfan sir, it is an honour to carry on your legacy. I’ve had the pleasure of working with legends like you, and now Babil. What is a providence if this isn’t it?” Along with images from the sets with the young actor, Lahiri wrote.
The project, which is funded by Lahiri and Sheel Kumar’s Rising Sun Films Production, is still a mystery.
Babil, who will make his acting debut in the Netflix film Qala, which also stars Tripti Dimri, shared the same photo on his Instagram account.
