Florence Pugh Gets ‘Black Widow’ Character Portrait From Boyfriend Zach Braff

Florence Pugh got the best gift for entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe from her boyfriend, Zach Braff.

The actor shared that he commissioned a portrait of the actress’ new role in Black Widow as a way to celebrate the film’s release. Florence plays the role of Natasha Romanoff’s sister, Yelena Belova. In the painting, the actress is in her Yelena wardrobe, which includes a white jumpsuit and green vest, as she raises two pistols.

Zach even wrote an adorable message urging people to watch the latest Marvel movie. He wrote, “Go see ‘Black Widow’ this weekend and watch @florencepugh save the world!” The Scrubs star further shared that he commissioned the painting from the “legendary” painter and comic book artist Phil Noto.

Zach and Florence have worked together in a short film In The Time It Takes to Get There. They were first spotted together in public back in 2019. In April, she showed some love to Zach on his 46th birthday by sharing photos of him along with a heartfelt tribute.

Earlier this year, Zach also celebrated his girlfriend’s special day as she turned 25 with a sweet social media post. Meanwhile, Black Widow is the actress’ introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

The story revolves around Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha as she and her sister confront their past and the villain called Taskmaster. They plan to take him down with the help of Rachel Weisz, who plays their surrogate mother, fellow widow Melina Vostokoff, and David Harbour, who plays their father figure, Soviet supersoldier Red Guardian.

“I actually didn’t have a moment to really think about it”

Florence had conveyed how it was like for her to an entertainment portal. She said, “It’s so fun. For me, when I started all this, it was like, ‘Hey, learn all of this!’ Just having professionals wanting to teach you how to do martial arts or, like, kickboxing is so wicked, and then you get to do it on set with Scarlett and you’re like, ‘What is my life!'”

She was also asked how she felt being welcomed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to which she responded saying it all happened very fast. The actress shared that everything was going straight away in terms of training and she met amazing stuntmen and women who were desperate to get her into it. She said, “I actually didn’t have a moment to really think about it”.

Florence added that she realized it during Comic-Con. She shared, “We walked out and that’s when I was like, ‘OK, it’s happened. It’s happening. Can’t go back now.’ I couldn’t see the back wall. It was crazy.”
