Pakistani artists, actors, musicians, comedians, and people from other entertainment areas have worked in India in the past and gradually the trend has grown over time.
Many Pakistanis have done a lot of work in India, back in the days when relations between the two countries were much better than now.
Many Pakistani actors feel that art has no limits so they can work wherever they want no matter what the Pakistani ties are with India.
Some of these artists also think that working in Bollywood is a big step forward especially when they have already proven themselves in Pakistan.
There are Pakistani actors who have refused to work in Bollywood despite being offered major projects.
Shehnaz Sheikh
Shehnaz Sheikh received an offer from Bollywood while being popular due to her excellent performances in Tanhaiyan and Un Kahi.
She was offered a lead role in Raj Kapoor’s film “Henna”, she refused the offer and later on Zeba Bakhtiar played this role. No one knows the reason behind this refusal but it is quite clear that Shehnaz Sheikh is not the kind of actress who enjoys a lot of exposure.
Shaan Shahid
Shaan Shahid is at the top of the list because he has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Pakistani actors who are doing Bollywood projects over and over again.
He is courageous in the matter. Shaan is definitely not one of the actors who has refused to work in Bollywood because the offer does not sound good enough.
He is also not one of the actors who says they will work in Bollywood if they find a good project for them to work on.
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Many people do not know this but Hamza Ali Abbasi was given a role in the Bollywood film “Baby” which Meekal Zulfiqar received later after Hamza Ali Abbasi refused to be part of the film.
Hamza Ali Abbasi explained his reasons on his Facebook page many years ago when he rejected the request.
“I would rather work on fostering my own industry. I respect actors like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan who are working in India while staying true to their roots but personally, I want to develop professionalism and better pay here rather than go in search of it across the border.”
Humayun Saeed
Humayun Saeed is one of those actors who tried his luck at Bollywood.
He starred in the film Jashan back in 2009. The film was a big mistake and thats when Humayun Saeed decided to use his talent in the Pakistani entertainment industry.
Since then, Hamayun Saeed has declined many offers from top Bollywood producers
Faisal Qureshi
Faisal Qureshi is regarded as one of the most talented actors in Pakistan.
In an interview Faisal Qureshi shared that he was given 2-3 Bollywood films but declined because the script was not as good as he would have liked.
He also said he did not want to disappoint his fans.
