Finn Wolfhard, of Stranger Things, Fired Agent after being accused of sexual misconduct
Finn Wolfhard of Stranger Things has revealed that after learning of sexual misconduct claims against him, he dismissed his agent right away.
Wolfhard is a Canadian actor and musician who has starred in television shows such as Stranger Things, IT, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
As he moves into the world of filmmaking, this young artist’s career is only going to become better. Wolfhard is set to helm his debut feature film, a horror-comedy-slasher, which was recently announced.
Finn Wolfhard Fired his Agent
Wolfhard’s successful career began when he won his breakout role as Mike Wheeler in Netflix’s Stranger Things at the age of eleven. As the popularity of Stranger Things grew, he used the opportunity to advance his acting career as well as pursue music and directing.
So far in his career, he’s starred in one of Netflix’s most popular series, worked alongside seasoned actors like Paul Rudd, Bill Murray, and Sigourney Weaver, and managed to balance it all with a successful music career. Wolfhard will reprise his role as Wheeler in Stranger Things season 4 next year, and he will appear in Ghostbusters: Afterlife on November 19, 2021.
According to the Washington Post, Wolfhard discussed terminating his agent, Tyler Grasham, when sexual misconduct charges surfaced. The allegations surfaced in 2017, while Grasham was Wolfhard’s agent. Wolfhard was 14 at the time. Wolfhard was one of the first clients to leave the agency after the allegations surfaced. He added that firing Grasham was a simple decision for him and that he had no reservations about doing so when considering the people who might have been harmed by him.
Wolfhard’s assurance in his decision demonstrates a maturity much beyond his years. The decision was not one that anyone expected to have to make when he was 14 years old and gaining attention for Stranger Things and IT.
It became a reality for the young actor, though, when the #MeToo movement exploded and four allegations against Grasham surfaced. The charges were eventually dropped, and Grasham went back to work in the sector. Regardless of whether or not charges were ever brought, Wolfhard was quick to dismiss the agent based on the accusations alone.
