Sony has given gamers and Sony fans an early Christman present. The announcement of the new Playstation 5 model is out! The new console will be an advanced, more powerful version of the current PS5. Here is everything you need to know about the announcement.
Release Date of the new PS5 Console
The newly announced Playstation 5 is currently slated to release in November 2023. The sale of the console will start at select retail stores in U.S and on the official Playstation website.
While the old version of PS5 is not phased out completely, Sony will no longer continue producing it. Once the current stock is sold out, the new PS5 will be the only console in production.
According to the official announcement by Sony: “Our engineering and design teams collaborated on a new form factor that provides greater choice and flexibility,” Shuman said. “The same technology features that make PS5 the best to play are packed into a smaller form factor, along with an attachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and a 1TB SSD for more internal storage.”

When it comes to hardware, Sony has announced a new Vertical Stand that will be sold separately (think Apple iPhones) at $29.99. In Europe and UK, this stand will be priced at 29.99 EUR and 24.99 GBP respectively.
