Enhyphen’s Sunghoon, IZ*ONE’s Wonyoung- The New MCs For KBS Show
The MCs currently of Music Bank are TXT’s Soobin and Oh My Girl’s Arin. But they are finally ending their stint on the music show. It was announced that they would be replaced by Enhyphen’s Sunghoon and IZ*ONE’s former member Wonyoung.
Music shows give K-pop artists a platform to perform and promote their new releases. It encourages good competition as they get judged for their music by garnering points. The song which has the most points wins in that week.
That is why such music shows need hosts and MCs to direct the show. Many kinds of music show feature idols, TV personalities and actors to become MCs. They act as insiders who have to interview the artists who will be performing on the show. Music Core had recently made NCT’s Jungwoo and Stray Kids’ Lee Know their MCs.
Enhyphen’s Sunghoon and ex-IZ*ONE’s member Wonyoung will be starting out as MCs for KBS’ Music Bank from October 8. The last date of both Soobin and Arin as MCs will be October 1. Both Sunghoon and Wonyoung will have a special stage where they can perform together to introduce themselves.
Sunghoon had previously been a guest MC for Mnet’s M Countdown and he had shown interest in hosting. Engenes (Enhyphen’s fandom) are happy with the news that he will be succeeding his label mate. Wonyoung has joined IZ*ONE’s MC line on the other hand. She had previously expressed that there were five members who wanted to become MCs.
Wonyoung has become the third member from the former group to become an MC. Even WIZ*ONE’s are also thrilled as this will enable Yuri to go solo. Fans of both Soobin and Arin thanked them with tweets. One said, “Mc soobin & akkong mc is so loved. thank you for everything :(,” “Their impact will be unmatched.”
Another said, “THEY SET THE BAR SO HIGH. MC SOOBIN AND MC ARIN DID SUCH A GREAT JOB! YOU WORKED WELL AKKONG MCS!!!” The fans are preparing themselves for the new MCs as they were excited for that too.
