Emraan Hashmi Talks About How It Is Like Working In Bollywood Industry

Actor Emraan Hashmi, who has been part of the film industry for almost two decades now, has called it ‘fake’. He also revealed why he chose to distance himself from the splendor and showbiz, once his work was over.

Emraan said that it is a ‘work ethic’ which he has followed since he started out in Bollywood. He was then asked if he stays away because he finds the industry ‘fake’, where people hype others to their faces but also tear them down behind their backs.

The Truth Of The Inudustry

Talking to radio host Siddharth Kannan, Emraan said, “Aisa toh hai (This is a fact). There are no two ways about it. That is the truth of our industry. But it is not just because of that. I think a person’s life should be more than just their profession.”

Emraan said he always has a humble outlook because of his friends, who he has known for many years, who have nothing to do with the film industry. He also commended his family for keeping him calm and said he appreciated their criticism, as it gave him a ‘realistic view’. Staying away from the film industry after spending a lot of time on the set helps him to be mentally healthy, he adds.

Upcoming Projects

Currently, Emraan is preparing for the release of Sanjay Gupta’s gang group movie Mumbai Saga, which will make an appearance on screens on March 19. The film also stars John Abraham, Kajal Agarwal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Rohit Roy, Gulshan Grover and Amole Gupte in pivotal roles.

The Mumbai Saga traces the journey of Bombay that became Mumbai and will highlight key events in the 1980s and 1990s. It marks the return of a filmmaker to a gang-drama movie eight years after Shootout at Wadala.

Post that, Emraan will appear in Rumi Jafry’s Chehre, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Krystle D’Souza, Annu Kapoor, Drithiman Chatterjee and Raghubir Yadav. The film reportedly starred with Rhea Chakraborty but was never mentioned in the cast or featured in a poster released Tuesday. It will be released on April 30.
