Emma Corrin & Harry Styles To Star in Romantic Comedy, My Policeman

The Crown’s star, Emma Corrin and Harry Styles have joined hands to be a part of My Policeman. It is a romantic comedy drama for Amazon Studios.

Michael Grandage will be directing the adaptation of the Bethan Robert novel with the same name. they will be using an adapted screenplay by Ron Nyswaner. The venture will be produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Robbie Rogers. This will be in association with Phillip Herd at MGC and Cora Palfrey at Independent Film Company.

The story revolves around the arrival of elderly Patrick into Marion and Tom’s home as it triggers the exploration of seismic events from 40 years prior. This includes a passionate relationship between Tom and Patrick at a time when homosexuality was illegal as it takes place in late 1990s.

Harry and Emma will be starring as Tom and Marion respectively. Emma is known for her commendable performance as Lady Diana Spencer in the fourth season of The Crown by Netflix. She also won her Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice nomination through the role. Last year, the actress had acted in her debut film, Misbehaviour. It was a historical drama film. She was cast along with Keira Knightley, Keeley Hawes, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Emma have also been in various other TV roles including her recurring role in Pennyworth. It is a 10-part Warner Brothers/EPIX series. Amazon Studios has closed a deal with Berlanti Schechter Productions to produce an untitled pic based on the acclaimed novel My Policeman. But it was initially reported that the star cast might include Harry Styles with Lily James.

Fans Were Excited For Harry & Lily

Production is said to begin next summer in 2021. My Policeman is a queer-themed novel that opens in 1999 when a man named Patrick — who is ill — visits the home of an old married couple named Tom and Marion.

Harry recently signed the New Line thriller Don’t Worry Darling, which also stars Florence Pugh. My Policeman will be his second movie. The singer had appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, before committing to these two projects.

Harry’s fans were all over the place when they heard the news. Their excitement did not just contain to Harry signing another movie, but also to be starred alongside Lily. “WHAT THE HECK WAIT HARRY IS GOING TO BE IN ANOTHER MOVIE NOW WITH LILY JAMES- ACTOR HARRY IS REALLY COMING HARD,” one fan shout-tweeted. Another fan asked people to imagine the power of having Harry and Lily on the screen.

A third fan gushed, “Harry styles and Lily James being in a movie together is my entire sexuality”. Harry has made his mark on the music industry and just like him, Lily has also had an impressive reputation. She starred in Downton Abbey as Lady Rose MacClare between 2012-2015.
