Drake had adorable help while accepting his award for Artist of the Decade at the BBMAs. His 3-year-old son, Adonis helped him, however, it was all too overwhelming for the little one.

The rapper dedicated his award to his son after accepting the honour at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. This also marked the debut of Drake’s son to a major event and things were too cute to handle. As Drake picked up Adonis to show him to the crowd, the loud noise seemingly scared the little one. He hugged his daddy’s leg while crying and Drake laughed it off.

It has been three years since we all learnt that Drake was a father. Drake’s tea-spilling, paternity-accusing rap song, The Story of Adidon, he first acknowledged his son on his 2018 album. “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world / I was hiding the world from my kid,” Drake rapped on “Emotionless,” adding, “Breaking news in my life I don’t run to the blogs/ the only ones I want to tell are in my phone I can call/ They always ask, ‘Why let it run if it’s false’/ You know a wise man once said nothing at all.” He also referenced Adonis on “March 14th,” the album’s closing track.

“Yesterday morning was crazy, I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That shit is in stone, sealed and signed / She not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine,” he said, referencing Sophie Brussaux before name-checking his mom. Ever since then, Drake has been very selective when it comes to allowing the world to see his son.

“What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light.”

Fans got to see Adonis for the first time in March 2020 when the musician himself shared some photos of the boy. The rapper gave the picture a lengthy caption as he wrote, “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light.” He further wrote it does not matter what happened in the past or what is happening around us now. The rapper said he can always make the choice to break free of the “wheel of suffering and panic and open up to his own light.

Drake wrote, “I love and miss my beautiful family and friends, and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite. Until then, please keep your lights on.” The BBMAs 2021 was going to be a big night for the rapper before it even officially began. Billboard named him as their Artist of the Decade for the 2010s because of his nine Billboard 200 No. 1s, six Hot 100 No.1s and various chart records.

This also includes his most 100 Top 10s which is 45 to date. His overall entry on the chart is 232. When the rapper heard the news, he took to social media and wrote that it does not feel real. He shared that he woke up to being Artist of the Decade and then having dinner with his idol Ronald Isley. The musician shared that he listened to the stories behind every song that shaped his love for emotional music and created his formula for a lot of his writing.

Drake also expanded on his record-setting number of Billboard Music Awards. Multiple winners were announced ahead of the broadcast. Drake, who was nominated for seven honours, won the BBMA for Top Streaming Songs Artist, increasing his total to 28. He was already the most- decorated artist in the history of the Billboard Awards, and this just extended his lead.
