Demi Lovato expressed how upset she is because of the close the US presidential election race is going on. As the votes are being counted, the race is way too close to predict who will eventually win.
The presidential election run is between Donald Trump and Democrat hopeful, Joe Biden. Although Biden is leading in the electoral college votes, there are a number of votes which still have to be counted. The singer shared her thoughts about the close race and the nail-biting election.
Demi shared that she expected it to be like a “landslide”. However, despite the upsetting results of the election so far, the singer said she will remain hopeful for the result. She took to Twitter to express her sadness and wrote, “Kind of terribly sad how close this election was.”
The singer shared how this year, especially after this summer, it should have been pretty obvious who is to be voted for. She wrote, “After this year and especially this summer it should’ve been a landslide. I don’t get it. Truly.”
Demi tweeted after that and expressed her utter disappointment at the results so far. She wrote how she will not lose hope and her faith is strong. The Commander-In-Chief singer shared that she is very disappointed at how close the race is. She questioned people by writing, “Like…. really y’all?”
Many of the disappointed voters also took to her comment section and expressed how upsetting and surprising it is. One user wrote, “You have thought the loss of 230,000 Americans would have impacted others. It breaks my heart.”
Demi Questions Trump With Commander-In-Chief
Demi has been vocal about her allegiance and had also released a powerful song questioning Trump’s administration. She asked a lot of strong questions and directly aimed it at Trump. Commander-In-Chief was debuted at Billboard Music Awards which is a song of protest against the current president.
The heartfelt tune features emotional lyrics such as ‘Commander in Chief, honestly/ If I did the things you do, I couldn’t sleep/ Seriously, do you even know the truth?’ The lyrics continue: ‘We’re in a state of crisis, people are dying/ While you line your pockets deep/ Commander in Chief/ How does it feel to still be able to breathe?’
The singer has been one of the many celebrities who have encouraged people to vote and vote for the correct person. She has been open about supporting Biden and urged her followers to make the right vote for change.
