Courteney Cox celebrates Boyfriend Johnny McDaid’s Birthday with a Virtual Zoom Date
Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have been apart for nearly five months, but that didn’t stop the Friends star from giving her beau a birthday to remember.
Cox celebrated her longtime partner’s 44th birthday on Friday with a virtual “lunch/dinner” date on Zoom. The couple have been stuck in quarantine on different continents due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. While Courtney is spending the lockdown in Los Angeles, California, Johnny weathers the storm in England.
“It’s been 133 days since we were last together. Covid Sucks”
The Cougar Town actress took to Instagram to share a snap of the duo’s “Zoom date,” to her 9.8 million followers. Cox revealed that it’s been months since she saw him in person due to the pandemic. “It’s been 133 days since we were last together,” Cox wrote on Instagram alongside the image, declaring, “Covid sucks.” She added, “Happy Birthday J. I loved our lunch/dinner (LA/London time) zoom date today, I miss you madly. ♥️♥️♥️#myone.”
“I have not seen him for so long, this is hard”
In May, Cox shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s at-home, Mother’s Day episode that McDaid had traveled to Europe, before the COVID-19 pandemic became a global issue. Sadly however, he ended up getting stuck abroad. Explaining why they were both in different countries, she said. “He was supposed to go to Switzerland to write and instead had to go to England. Then all of a sudden, this all happened and they called a quarantine.”
The Friends star added that “it’s been hard” being away from McDaid for so long. “I have not seen him for so long,” she told Ellen on her daytime chat show. “We spend a lot of time on Facebook but I just miss his physical touch. This is hard. Just all of it,” she said.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
Cox first began dating the Snow Patrol band member, McDaid in January 2014. The couple were soon engaged six months later, but ended up calling off the engagement in late 2015. However, in April 2016, Courteney and Johnny reunited with a kiss at London’s Heathrow Airport and have been dating ever since.
Courtney’s former spouse is actor, David Arquette whom she married on June 12, 1999. The couple also share their 16 year old daughter, Coco Arquette together. Courtney and David announced their separation in 2010 before their divorce was finalized in May 2013. The former couple still remain amicable to this day and consider themselves good at co-parenting.
